Dorothy's Story
Story --- hummm - well - 50 years - oh my!
After high school graduation it all started at UMass Amherst. I graduated in '64 and got married in the same year.
Started my teaching career at Buckingham Junior High in Springfield where I learned more than I taught my students. Great experience in a tough school with great kids.
Next 3 years teaching at Belchertown State School and then 3 years at Amherst Regional Junior High as the Art teacher. Terrific place to teach and live.
Earned my masters at U Mass while teaching in Amherst.
Rich and I spent the summer of '70 hitch hiking around Europe. Our first grand travel...Expand for more
experience. We still love to travel although we no longer hitch hike.
Eli was born in '71 and attended grad courses with me amid the chaos of war protests and canceled classes.
Started teaching in the Art Department at Bridgewater State College in '72 and I am still there.
Studied at Mass Art to fulfill tenure and promotion requirements.
Jesse born in '76 and Sarah in '79.
Most of my free time is spent in my studio working in glass, clay and on digital images and photography.
My art work is on my faculty web page found in the art department web page at Bridgewater State College.
